PPPP formally announces presidential poll boycott

ISLAMABAD : The  PPPP on Monday decided to stay away from presidential poll in protest on rescheduling the date of elections. “PPPP’s members would not poll their votes tomorrow in protest against advancing the date of voting for Presidential elections,” said PPP’s central leader Amin Fahim, talking to media after the PPP’s parliamentary party meeting. He said that the protest was not against the presidential election but it was actually against the way how they were being conducted. He said Senator Raza Rabbani to strengthen the democratic process and fulfil constitutional requirements knowing strength of ruling party but now they will boycott.
 “It was not union council election so date should not be revised in such a way,” he added. He said that they will decide future strategy with their other opposition parties in near future.
