Senior PML-N leader and petitioner in RPPs case Khawaja Mohammad Asif Friday lauded the verdict of the Supreme Court describing it a victory of the people of Pakistan.
Talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court building after the announcement of judgment in RPPs case, Khawaja Asif said that the Prime Minister and the Cabinet violated the basic principles of transparency. He said the court took a major step for the redressal of grievances of the people of Pakistan.
The PML-N leader demanded prosecution of all those in whose tenure the RPPs contracts were signed. He said contributions of Federal Minister Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat in the case cannot be under estimated.
In reply to a question about excessive electricity load shedding, he said the release of Rs 6 billion ordered by the Prime Minister would not resolve the crisis in which Punjab has been targeted. He said the volume of crisis is such a huge that this amount would have no impact. He said the load shedding crisis would be resolved only if the plundered money was recovered from the rulers.
Asked whether he would demand resignation from the Prime Minister, Khawaja Asif said now allegations have also been leveled against his(PM) children and he do not know what for Mr Gilani was waiting to resign.
