Rawalpindi-A court of law yesterday set free PTI MPA Ijaz Khan Jazi and 25 other workers in a case of clashing with police on October 28 at Committee Chowk.
The court also ordered the PTI leader and workers to furnish the surety bonds worth Rs 30,000 each with the court.
According to details, Magistrate Gulfam Latif Butt awarded bails to PTI MPA Ijaz Khan and 25 other party workers. The judge observed that the charges levelled against the arrested men were bailable and the bails could be granted against personal sureties as well.
The accused were produced by Waris Khan police before the court. Police requested the court that arrested men should be sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand for 14 days. The court, however, did not agree to the police request as lawyers representing the accused argued that the charges against the men were not serious and they could be granted bail by the magistrate. The PTI workers were arrested from Committee Chowk where they clashed with riot police. The workers wanted to go to Lal Haveli where Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, President Awami Muslim League, had planned a public rally against the government.
The police registered the case against arrested men under sections 353 (police encounter), 186 (obstructing police during work), 188 (disobedience for government orders), 147 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), and 341 (wrongful restraint).
A similar case was registered by Airport police on Friday when the police arrested two PTI workers for clashing with the law-enforcers.
Magistrate Waqar Mansoor Baryar granted bail to Safeer and Iqbal asking them to furnish surety bonds each worth Rs 30,000.
Meanwhile, normalcy returned to the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad following the last two days of clashes and detentions made in twin cities by police to bar the anti-government protestors to participate a public gathering at Lal Haveli. Police had removed the containers from all the roads. The roads leading to Lal Haveli were also opened for traffic and public movement.
The government restored Metro Bus Service. Similarly, public transport was available to passengers on almost all the routes.
