42 suspects held as police comb I-11, slums

ISLAMABAD - Following reports of intelligence agencies that terrorists may attack sensitive installation in federal capital, capital territory police on Thursday arrested 42 suspects during search operation in its various localities including sector I-11 and other slum areas.
Islamabad capital police started search operation following intelligence agencies’ reports that terrorists may attack some places in federal capital.
SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq directed police officers to conduct search operation in their respective areas. Followed his directions, various police teams conducted search operations in different areas and arrested the suspects. According details, teams of Sabzi Mandi police stations conducted a search operation under supervision of SP (Industrial Aera) Muhammad Ishaq Warrich and ASP Yasir Afridi. These teams including Station House Officer of Sabzi Mandi Police station Asjid Mehmood conducted special checking of various houses, under-construction buildings, inns and slum areas.  The police teams apprehended 42 suspects and investigation is underway from these nabbed suspects as they could not produce any authentic document for their identification. Islamabad police also 5 proclaimed offenders involved in crime of heinous nature in its special crackdown against outlaws, a police spokesman said.
On a tip-off, Sub Inspector Shams Akbar and ASI Ishfaq from CIA police arrested three accused during patrolling namely Ibrhaim, Thair Shah and Umer Farooq.
, besides recovering two Kalashnikovs, one 12-bore gun and 20 cartridges from their procession.
ASI Muhammad Tariq from Sihala police station arrested an accused namely Mursleen and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Sub Inspector Abdul Ghafoor from Secretariat police station arrested Tahir Shah and recovered 120 grams hashish from him.
Assistant Sub Inspector Zulfaqir Ali from ShehzadTown police arrested two accused Daulat Khan, Ibrar and recovered stolen property from their possession.
In compliance of directions from SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq regarding  crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders, Islamabad Police nabbed five  proclaimed offenders wanted to police for their involvement in crime of heinous nature.
SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yaseen Farooq has issued directions to make this campaign further effective as the performance of in-charges of each would be further reviewed in this regard.
