ISLAMABAD - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) on Monday raising objections on Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri’s protest viewed that Qadri wants to pack up the democratic polity of the country.
The religio-political party claims that Qadri’s protest is not aimed at cleansing the system rather it wants to pack up the democratic polity of the country. In a statement issued from JUI-F’s office, it was said that Qadri has no stakes in the country, including his investment, and even he is not ready to quit his dual nationality. “How come you want to be a leader of 20 million Pakistanis when you are not prepared to offer this small sacrifice: ditching Canadian passport,” it asked.
It further said that Qadri does not get tried of citing Pakistani constitution but forgets that he has sworn allegiance to the Queen of England. “Do not forget your oath when you said: I swear by Almighty God that, on becoming a Canadian subject, I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and Successors according to law.”
Dr Qadri has no alternative solution and simply wants to get assemblies dissolved. He challenged if Dr Qadri contest elections then he would face a crushing defeat. The JUI-F will not allow anybody to derail democracy under whatsoever slogan.
