ECP asks Punjab, Sindh to get ready for LB polls

ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), while directing Punjab and Sindh provinces to complete necessary arrangements for holding local bodies' elections, said Tuesday the same was not possible through biometric system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before September 2015.
The directive was issued at a meeting of the commission chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza to review the matters pertaining to holding of local government elections in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.  
On the occasion, Acting Secretary of Election Commission Usman Ali informed the meeting that progress has been made in delimitations in Sindh and Punjab. He also said that a committee has also been constituted to review the matters regarding local government system in Sindh.
