Lok Mela starts from Friday

Islamabad - National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage, Lok Virsa, would hold ten-day annual event of folk festival of Pakistan `Lok Mela’ from April 3rd to 12.
Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage, Pervaiz Rashid is likely to be the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony on April 3.
While the closing ceremony would be held on April 12 and the chief guest would be Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch.
The main features of Lok Mela include artisans-at-work-exhibition with special focus on dying crafts, provincial cultural pavilions, folkloric songs and dance ensembles, rural musicians, traditional cuisines, craft bazaar and award ceremonies. Executive Director, Lok Virsa, Dr Fauzia Saeed would also address the audience on the occasion.
