ISLAMABAD - The fresh session of the Senate has been summoned on June 2, a day earlier when the federal government will present the annual budget 2016-17 in the National Assembly.
According to the Senate Secretariat, the President has summoned the Senate to meet on Thursday, the June 2, 2016 at 10.30 am while exercising powers conferred on him by clause (1) of Article 54 of the Constitution.
The government will lay the copy of the Finance Bill 2016-17 in the Senate on the same day as the Upper House under the Constitution will have to give its recommendations to the National Assembly on the annual budget. But these recommendations are not binding for NA.
At the same tine, the Senate will start a debate on the annual budget. The Senate Secretariat has yet not issued the final agenda for 2nd June session of the house.
