3 killed, 4 injured in Karachi violence

Violence wave continued in Karachi as at least three more people were killed and 4 injured in firing incidents in different areas of the city, officials said on Sunday.
According to details, some unidentified persons shot dead a youth in Badr Chowk area of mominabad while some miscreants injured two people by firing and threw them near Mortar Quarters area of PIB Colony after tying their hands and feet. One of the injured died on the spot while the other was rushed to hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.
In other incidents of violence, three people sustained bullet wounds in Soldier Bazar and Qaidabad areas.
Meanwhile, police have cordoned off different streets in Qasba Colony, Bukhari Colony and MPR Colony and conducted search of specific houses and arrested 9 suspects. Arms were also recovered from the arrested persons.
At least 38 people have reportedly been killed over past six days.
Markets, shops, petrol pumps, CNG stations were opened after the business community in Sindh to resume commercial activities following an unannounced strike.
Commercial areas and educational institutions of the city wore abandoned look with petrol pumps and CNG stations kept closed on Saturday.
Traders Action Committee (TAC) has announced that all markets of the city will be opened on Sunday. “Usually the markets remain closed on Sunday but they will be opened tomorrow as the markets were closed for three days in the city due to unrest and strikes,” the TAC said in a statement.
