Oppression-based politics fading

KARACHI – Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawwar Hassan has said that the journey of change is unstoppable and the old oppression-based political system of the country is taking last breathes.
Addressing a big ‘Umaid-e-Pakistan Youth Convention’ here on Sunday, he said the Pakistani youth have put their weight for bringing a revolutionary change in the country and no one could dare giving support to the dying obsolete political system. He said the Jamaat-e-Islami would touch the hearts of the masses this time. He said the wave of change is sweeping whole Muslim Ummah and Pakistani people have also awakened to greet the coming revolution.
He said youths are the vanguard of this change and they are determined to change the fate of their country. He said there is no dearth of resources in the country, but the main curse of this country is its corrupt political leadership. He said if the honest leadership were given a change Pakistan would soon attain new mileposts of progress and prosperity. He said it is responsibility of youth to continue their momentum till a corruption-free society is established in the country.  Munawwar said the hidden hands are still patronising the terrorists who have made Sindh, particularly Karachi a living hell. He said Karachi is still held hostage by the terrorists. He said he would not buy the idea that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement is a political party. He said he knows better because his party has collected the bodies of its workers from the city roads.  He regretted that the decisions of the Supreme Court about Karachi were not being implemented in letter and spirit.
He said the corrupt politicians are changing political parties to continue their loot and plunder; however, the nation would also reject these turncoats. He said there is a dire need to call a spade a spade now the boldly unveil the corruption and dishonest politicians.
He said the Jamaat-e-Islami believes in the politics of principles. He said during last six decades it conducts its internal elections regularly and no one dares to point finger to honesty and integrity of its cadres. He said it is high time that other religious and patriotic forces support the JI in the coming general elections.
He said the route of ballot is the safest route to change and people should use their right of vote carefully this time and foil the bids of those who want to befool once again in the cover of catchy slogans and false promises. He said proper use of vote is the only way to safeguard our sovereignty and national honour.
Munawwar saluted the freedom fighters of Kashmir and Afghanistan. He said there brave struggle has added new chapters to the history of human valour and aspiration for freedom from occupation forces.
On the occasion, Shabab-e-Milli leaders Attiqur Rehman, Zubair Safdar, Azeem Baloch and others spoke. Earlier, JI naib amir Asadullah Bhutto and Karachi chapter amir Muhammad Hussain Mehanti also addressed the moot.
