Four criminals killed in encounters with LEAs

KARACHI - The law-enforcement agencies on Thursday claimed to have shot dead four alleged criminals, including three gangsters, in separate encounters during the Eid holidays.
Police and rangers carried out a joint operation in the area of Baghdahi police where gangsters from Lyari gang were hiding. The gangsters resorted to firing as the law enforcers reached the hideout. Following the exchange of fire, two out of six criminals were killed on the spot while the remaining four managed to escape. The criminals belonging to Lyari gang of Wasiullah Lakho were later identified as Rashid aka Kala and Qaiser aka Mota. Police said the gangsters killed in encounter were involved in more than 70 criminal cases, including murders, kidnapping for ransom and extortion.
In another incident which occurred in the area of Bihar Colony of Lyari, gangster Kashif aka Moqsood and Gosha were shot dead during an alleged encounter with police and rangers. They belonged to Baba Ladla gang of Lyari and wanted by police in more than 80 cases of killing alone. In both the raids, the law enforcers claimed to have recovered weapons like rockets and pistols. In the Bahadurabad police area, bandits were busy looting the people near Naheed Store. As the police on a routine patrol reached there and asked the bandits to surrender, they resorted to firing.
The police retaliated and injured one of the bandits while his accomplices managed to escape. The injured bandit was rushed to a local hospital where he died.
