KARACHI – MQM chief Altaf Hussain and four others booked in the triple murders of Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi leaders gunned down in Sharafi Goth police precincts. An FIR No 239/12 under Sections 302/34 and 109, of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered on the complaint of party’s worker, Tahir Ali.
Police officials said that the case was registered against MQM chief Altaf, MQM Karachi Tanzeemi Committee in-charge Hammad Siddiqui and three others including, Manzur aka Lamba aka Landhi Wala, Raees Mama aka Raees Korangi Wala and Ahsan Iqbal. Complainant said that four assailants on behest of MQM’s chief Altaf assassinated his party’s men.
Meanwhile, five people were gunned down in current spell of sectarian killing in different incidents here on Friday.
A man was shot dead while his daughter injured near Jail Chowrangi within the remits of Ferozabad police station.
Police said that the victims namely Nazar Abbas, 45, son of Zafar Abbas was going to drop his nine-year-old daughter namely Mazoor Zehra to school on a car when some unidentified armed men riding a motorbike started indiscriminate firing on his vehicle. Resultantly, both of them sustained multiple bullet injuries and rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced Nazar’s death and admitted Zehra for treatment. The body of the victim was handed over to his family after medicolegal formalities. Police suspected the motive behind the incident as sectarian killing.
In another incident, a man was gunned down at Qasba Mor within the jurisdiction of Pirabad police station. Police said that the victim identified as Usman Ghani, 29, son of Khaliq Khan, a resident of the same area was standing near Al-Shafa mosque when some unidentified armed riders came close to him and opened fire. He died on the spot. After getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to his heirs. Police said that the victim belonged to Mohmand agency and was a supporter of ASWJ. Police believed that the motive behind the killing was also a sectarian killing. A man and his son were gunned down at Yousuf Goth in Saeedabad police precincts.
Police said the victims namely Ghulam Qadir, 65, son of Ghulam Haider and his son Fazal Abbas, a resident of Saeedabad were going for prayer on a motorbike when some unidentified assailants driving a pickup van intercepted the motorbike and sprayed bullets on them. Resultantly, they sustained multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot. Police shifted the bodies to Civil Hospital Karachi for postmortem and later handed over to heirs. Police said the victims were vegetable vendors. Police suspect the motive behind the killing as sectarian killing. In a separate incident, a man was shot dead and another wounded in Pathar Road, Green Town within the limits of Shah Faisal Colony police station.
Police said that the victim namely Riaz Hussain Shah, 48, son of Sultan Hussain Shah was sitting at his shop along with his friend namely Mehdi Shah, 40, son of Raees Shah when pillion riders came and opened fire. They sustained multiple bullet injuries. Riaz died on the way to JPMC while Mehdi admitted for medical treatment. Police suspected the motive behind the incident as sectarian killing.

Police said the victim identified as Sohail, 23, son of Moosa was near his resident when unidentified culprits shot him to death. Police said the victim’s was a drug peddler. The motive behind the murder was personal enmity.
