‘Draft of new liberal visa policy likely to be inked’


KARACHI - The Former High Commissioner of Pakistan in India Shahid Malik said that the bilateral trade between two countries didn’t rise due to imposition of non tariff barriers by India and draft of new liberal visa policy has been prepared and is likely to be signed soon.He was speaking at a lunch hosted by SM Muneer President India Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IPCCI) in honour of Shahid Malik at local hotel. He said that betterment of Pakistan India relations will effects positively on whole SAARC region. He said that the bilateral trade between two countries didn’t rise due to imposition of non tariff barriers by India and draft of new liberal visa policy between Pakistan and India has been prepared, according to which business community will be given one year multiple time visa. The peoples of both countries including businessmen will be benefited from this visa policy. This was stated by Former High Commissioner in Dinner hosted by FPCCI and lunch hosted by SM Muneer President India Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IPCCI) in honour of Shahid Malik at local hotel.Tariq Sayeed, Vice President CACCI, Founder & Former President SAARC CCI & Former President FPCCI, S. M. Muneer President India Pakistan CCI & Former President FPCCI, Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Sheerani, President FPCCI and Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed Dhingra Vice President FPCCI also spoke on the Occasion. Shahid said that the trade and political relations between Pakistan and India are under progress and both countries have finalized the mutual trade areas. After this, the new era of Pakistan- India relationship will be started. He further stated that the businessmen and industrialist of both the countries played a significant role in betterment of trade and political relations in restoration and normalization of trade and political relations. He said the provision of sensitive list of products from India to Pakistan for investments will provide many opportunities to Pakistani investors to make investment in India. He informed that there are vast opportunities of trade and investment between India and Pakistan, which should be tapped. Tariq Sayeed pay attribute to Former High Commissioner Shahid Malik and ranked him as number one Ambassador and the best Commissioner among all. Sayeed informed that two years ago Pakistan has allowed Indian investors for making investment in Pakistan and hoped that investors from both sides of Pakistan India border will avail the opportunity  in a big way.On this occasion, SM Muneer eulogising the services of Shahid Malik identified that the issuance of non-liberal visa policy is a big hurdle between increases in trade volume between both the countries. He informed that draft of new liberal visa policy has been prepared and urged the government of Pakistan to sign the new visa policy at the earliest, so that the trade and investment relations between both the countries may be promoted. President FPCCI Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Sheerani said that Shahid Malik play an important role in uniting the business community of both the countries. He disclosed that Expo Pakistan exhibition is being organized in Mumbai which will far reaching impact on trade and industry. Shakeel Ahmed Dhingra, VP FPCCI said that Pakistan and Indian relations are moving in right direction and a new environment for the trade and industry has been created between both countries. Member Toranto parliament Shafique Qadri,  Begum Salma Ahmed Shah, Vice President FPCCI, Mr. Iqbal Pakwala, VP FPCCI,  Zahid Hussain,  Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig,  Malik Khuda Buksh, Zubair Tufail, Munir Sultan, Abdul Sami Khan  and other also presented on the occasion.
