KARACHI - A young woman goes missing from JPMC mysteriously since July 28. Shah Aemun 22, resident of Korangi, reached Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre along with her grandmother to get her medical reports. Her family has claimed that she was kidnapped and still being kept in the premises of hospital. On the contrary, investigators suspect that the woman might have had an affair with someone and she eloped with him. The missing woman resided with her grandmother since her mother's death. Her family says that she felt pain in her abdomen and reached hospital for a check up on which doctors asked her to collect her medical reports on July 28. When she reached hospital's emergency room to get the reports. On the appointed day, her grandmother went with her to the hospital and waited outside for her return but she did not come back. Reports say that on that day there was some skirmish between the doctors and political workers at the hospital. When situation at the hospital became normal and she did not return from the emergency room, her grandmother went in the room but could not find her. The father of missing woman Abdual Latif has lodged the FIR 16920/08 (Under Section 365-D) at Saddar Police Station. Station Investigation Officer (SIO) Shoukat Awan when contacted that doctors had taken the ultrasound and urine tests of the woman. He said they were also investigating the medical aspect of the case, as the same tests were done for examining pregnancy. " It is possible that she might have fled after the doctors told her that she was pregnant", the officer further said. The SIO, however, said that Aemun's family was not cooperating with the police and the case was still in initial stage.
