Another anti-PML-N ‘Battalion’ flexes muscles

Disgruntled PML leaders meet in Karachi

KARACHI - Disgruntled Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa has said that Muslim League leaders would not let Sharif brothers to make the party their slave.
“We are neither forming any new Muslim League nor making any forward block but making efforts to gather all the annoyed members of the party on a platform,” he added.
He was talking to media men after a meeting with PML-N leaders Dost Khosa and Ghaus Ali Shah. The meeting was held at Ghaus Ali Shah’s residence on Monday.
During the meeting, the senior Muslim Leaguers discussed in detail the current intra-party situation and decided to contact more disgruntled members of the party who stood with the PML-N in turbulent times. Internal party sources said the disgruntled members of the PML-N expressed complete no-confidence over the way the party is being run by the high command. Moreover former chief minister Ghous Ali Shah pointed out that the party leaders were disappointed with the PML-N leadership since they did not give Sindh the due respect.
The angry leaders further remarked, “We have decided to initiate a drive across the country to bring back all the disgruntled members of the party with an aim to strengthen the party. The party leaders are in contact with the annoyed Muslim Leaguers of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
Khosa categorically denied forming any forward block or new party, saying Sharif brothers - despite of having opportunity - did not turn the Muslim League into a countrywide party. “Now it is our responsibility to strengthen the party on national level,” he added.
Unfortunately the Sharif brothers have forgotten the party members who made sacrifices for the party. They distributed the ministries on favouritism. The exile leaders of the party, after returning to country, made various deals and shared the power keeping in view their personal interests. Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan from Potohar, who is a close friend of Sharifs, was awarded with the slot of federal interior minister, said Khosa. The party always gave key governing slots to the party members of Lahore.
PML-N leader further said the Muslim League seems to be vanished from the Southern Punjab. On the other hand, PML-N workers were not able to get access to the party high command.
Ghaus Ali Shah said the ‘Two-Nation Theory’ established Pakistan and it was the responsibility of the Pakistan Muslim League to run the affairs of the country but PML - being a national party - split into various factions. He said no political party could sustain longer without the system of justice within the party. “Historic rigging took place in Sindh in general elections of 2013 but the road shows are being staged in Punjab,” he added.
He claimed that people from each province asked him to stand against the Muslim League leadership. “They are in contact with the other leaders of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he added.
