Four accused released

KARACHI (APP) - Justice Amir Hani Muslim of High Court of Sindh (SHC), also the Administrative Judge of Anti Terrorism Courts (ATCs) of Karachi division on Friday refused remand request in respect of four young men who were arrested by Kharadar Police allegedly on the basis of CC Camera TV footage. Accused Faisal, Kamran, Rizwan and Farhan when produced before the Judge, told him that they were arrested from their respective residences on pretext of cooperation in investigations but were later made accused. The judge ordered release of the four accused directing them to cooperate with the Investigating Officer. The remaining six accused including four who were remanded to police custody till Jan 04 by a Judicial Magistrate, South, remanded them to custody of Mithadar Police till Jan 04. They are accused of arson, loot, damage to public property and causing terror by acts which lead to massive fire. The AJ later directed DIG Investigations Ghulam Nabi Memon to personally supervise the investigation of the two cases rejecting his request to remand the four accused who were ordered to be released by the AJ.
