KARACHI - Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan at the Governor House here on Thursday evening.
He was accompanied by provincial ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon, Ayaz Soomro and Rafiq Engineer.
Qaim welcomed the decision of the Governor of Sindh to withdraw his resignation. He said that Dr Ishrat fostered cohesion, understanding among various sections of the society in the province.
The CM said that Dr Ishrat played the role of a ‘bridge’ for the political stability and reconciliation.
On the occasion, he also welcomed the return of the Sindh Governor to the country. Qaim lauded the decision of the chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement and termed this as in the interest of the country especially the province of Sindh.
The governor said that he would do whatever he could in the interest of the country and people. He said that Altaf Hussain had directed him to withdraw the resignation in the larger interest of the country. Ebad thanked President Asif Ali Zardari, MQM chief, Altaf Hussain and others for reposing confidence in him “which I very much willingly accepted.”
