SHC issues notices to govt, SHOs on Karachi target killing

Sindh High Court on Monday issued notices to federal and provincial governments and SHOs of 22 police stations of Karachi over a petition asking the apex court to take notice of ongoing target killing in the city. The initial hearing of the petition filed by Iqbal Kazmi Advocate was carried out by a bench comprising of Justice Musheer Alam and Justice Mohammad Ather Saeed. The petitioner has pleaded the court to take the notice of the negligence by the two governments and law enforcement agencies towards spree of target killing in Karachi in recent months. The petitioner has also filed a list of 22 police stations in the court where most of the target killings have occurred. The petitioner has also pleaded the court to bound the government for taking action on the reports prepared by the intelligence agencies on the issue.
