200 ‘ghost teachers’ suspended

 

NAWABSHAH: More than 200 male and female schoolteachers have been suspended over absence from duty.

The chief monitoring officer for education has sent a report to the Sindh education secretary in this regard.

Chief Monitoring Officer Abdullah Dahri said the action against ghost teachers had been initiated after imposition of education emergency in the province by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

He said the team raided more than a dozen schools, including Government Primary School Haberi, GPS Fatehpur, GPS Nabi Bakhsh and GPS Syed Khair Shah, where more than 200 male and female teachers were found absent from duty.
