Five more shot dead


KARACHI -

Five persons were shot dead in separate incidents of violence on Monday.
A man was shot dead while another wounded in the limits of Nipper police station.
Police said that victim Gull Rehman was on his way when when unidentified gunmen intercepted his motorcycle near Old Hajji Camp and resorted to indiscriminate firing. As a result, Rehman and a passer-by Saeedur Rehman sustained bullet wounds and were shifted to Civil Hospital. Doctors pronounced Rehman dead while admitted saeed. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained.
Elsewhere, police found a shot dead body from the remits of Rizvia police station.
Police said that gunmen abducted the victim and later threw his shot dead body at an abandoned place in Gulbahar Area. Police shifted the body to the morgue after autopsy. Police found the victim’s NIC which revealed his name as Abdul Waheed, son of Abdul Latif, resident of Shakopura. However, motive behind the murder and the local resident of the victim could not be ascertained.
Separately, a man was shot dead near Ship-Owner College located in the remits of North Nazimabad police station.
Police said that victim Saeed Khan,18, was standing near his residence when gunmen, riding a motorcycle, targeted him and managed to flee. Police rushed on the spot and shifted the victim to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
Similarly, unidentified gunman killed a private security guard in the remits of Maripur police station. Police said that victim Dawood Khan, resident of Badni Goth, was standing outside his house when gunmen targeted him and managed to flee. Police suspect personal enmity as motive behind the murder.
Meanwhile, a man committed suicide in Hassan Colony within the remits of Gulbahar police station
Reportedly, 30-year-old Simon Mashi shot himself dead over a petty family issue. Police said that victim exchanged harsh words with his father Ilyas Mashi over, pulled out his father’s pistol and shot himself dead.
Man killed, another wounded in ‘encounter’
A man was killed while another wounded during an alleged encounter with police at Northern Bypass within the limits of Mochko police station.
The alleged robber was identified as Maher Ali aka Kalu and his injured companion as Zohaib Zubair.
Police said that the encounter took place when culprits robbed a passer-by Nadeem of cell phone and cash.
Police said that cops on routine patrolling were informed about the robbers who had fled the scene.
Police chased the robbers and when reached close to them they resorted to firing which was retaliated.
Resultantly, both bandits sustained bullet wounds and were rushed to Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced Kalu dead while his companion Zubair was admitted.
