KARACHI - Over 15 thatched huts were burnt in a fire that erupted in HussaIn Hazara Goth located in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, on late Wednesday night.
The Aziz Bhatti Police and fire brigade rushed to the spot as soon as they received the news of fire. The fire started dying down after long hours efforts of fire brigade rescuers.
Fire brigade official said that it took six fire tender teams to control the fire but the cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained.
Police official said that investigation of the fire incident was underway and police believed that the fire started from a nearby garbage. The residents claimed that the property worth hundreds of thousands of rupees was destroyed.
Edhi and Chhipa ambulances also rushed to the spot for providing any relief to the affected residents.
They said that the fire destroyed around 15 huts and all belongings of the families living there.
Fire department officials said no casualty had been reported in the incident.
