KARACHI - An activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement among four people were killed in separate violent incidents here on Friday.
An activist of MQM was gunned down in Gabol Colony area of Orangi Town within the jurisdiction of Orangi Town police station.
Police said that victim Dilawar Khan, 35, alias Khan Sahab was returning home after offering Friday prayer when some unidentified armed riders sprayed bullets on him and managed to flee. As a result he sustained at least eight bullets in upper torso and died on the spot. His body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.
Police said that the victim released from jail around one and a half years ago as he was booked in 22 cases registered in different police stations of Orangi Town.
A man killed his friend in Bismillah Colony area of Mawach Goth in Mochko Police precincts.
Police said that victim identified as Shahid, 22, was shot dead by his friend Iqbal who later managed to escape from the scene. The body was shifted to CHK for postmortem and later handed over to heirs. The motive behind the murder has yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, shot dead bodies of a man and woman were found near Edhi graveyard within the remits of Mawach Goth police station.
Police said that victims identified as twenty-year-old Bushra Akhtar, resident of Old City area while another was identified as Ahmed Raza, 22, resident of Usmanabad.
Some unidentified culprits kidnapped the victim from somewhere and later dumped their bodies at an abandoned place after shooting them multiple times. The bodies were handed over to their families after medicolegal formalities at Civil Hospital. Police suspected that the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained while further investigation was underway.
