KARACHI - At least four people were killed in separate incidents of violence here on Tuesday.
A man was gunned down and his brother wounded by unidentified assailants in Macche Miyani Market. Police said Tariq and his Rizwan were sitting outside a shop when the attackers opened indiscriminate fire on them. Police said the victims were being threatened some Lyari gangsters to pay extortion money.
Separately, a youth namely Shahid Aalim was shot dead when unidentified armed riders targeted him in Jamali Goth. Being informed, a police team rushed to the site and shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained.
A scavenger was gunned down in Orangi Town No 10 within the jurisdiction of Mominabad Police Station. Police officials said that pillion armed rider opened indiscriminate firing on the victim and managed to escape from the scene. The body was shifted to hospital for autopsy and later moved to morgue for identification.
A man was stabbed to death by bandits for offering resistance during a robbery in Baldia Sector-8. Police said that some bandits barged into the house and made the inmates hostage at the gunpoint. As owner of the house, Sanaullah, offered resistance, the bandits killed him and managed to flee after looting Rs80,000.
