Two cops, two robbers killed in exchange of fire

KARACHI - Two policemen and two robbers were killed during a clash in Bhains Colony area of the metropolis on Thursday.
According to SSP Rao Anwar, suspected robbers riding a motorcycle opened fire when policemen tried to stop them during snap-checking in Sukhan area.
Resultantly, two policemen Ejaz and Saeed got severely injured while two robbers were killed in retaliation. The injured policemen were shifted to nearby hospital but they could not survive.
Taking notice of the incident, SSP Malir suspended two police officers as the deceased cops were not provided with bulletproof vests. As per details, 20 policemen have lost their lives in Karachi this year.
FIVE HELD IN POLICE OPERATION
Police claimed to have arrested five suspects allegedly involved in an attack on a school during raids conducted in different parts of the city on Thursday.
The operation was launched in the aftermath of a cracker attack on a school located in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of the city.
The raids were carried out in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Abul Hassan Isphahani Rod, Gabol Town and Sohrab Goth on the basis of information gathered through CCTV footage.
Sources said all the five suspects were associated with a banded outfit. Moreover, the provincial authorities have started taking down flags and banners of banned organizations from the city.
Moreover, during a raid in the area of West Zone on Thursday, police detained a suspect involved in murdering 22 people.
While unveiling the suspect Ubaidur Rehman before media, Deputy Inspector General West Zone (DIG) Naveed claimed that the criminal has confessed of killing 22 people including doctors and police officers.
DIG West Zone said that the target killer started slaughtering people after getting bail from the jail.
Moreover, the detained suspect revealed that, he used to kill people on sectarian basis after getting the orders by Subhan.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has directed the police authorities to submit enquiry report of Shikarpur terrorist incident within next three days. He ordered the police team investigating the Shikarpur incident to take more effective steps for immediate arrest of the accused, said police press release here on Thursday.
Sindh Inspector General of Police, Ghulam Haider Jamali had constituted an investigative police committee led by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Larkana Sain Rakhio Mirani. Other members are SSP Shikarpur Saqib Ismail Memon, SSP Sukkur Tanvir Tunio, SSP Special Branch Sukkur Sherjeel Kharl.
