Qaim takes jibes at PML-N chief


KARACHI  - Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has criticised the statement of the PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif regarding the setting up of the military courts. He said here on Thursday, that this is totally against the mandate of the people.
The Chief Minister further stated that this was also against the spirit of democracy. He said that this has even been negated by the partymen of the PML-N. Qaim Ali Shah termed the talk of the setting up of military courts as `anti-democratic and anti-people’.
Meanwhile, the Sindh Chief Minister has paid rich tribute to founder of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto while talking to mediamen at Chief Minister House. Earlier, a cake-cutting ceremony was held at the C.M. House which was attended by provincial ministers as well as the party leaders. “Today is the birth anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and a cake cutting ceremony has been performed here in this regard”, Qaim Ali Shah remarked.
 He said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a great leader and would be remembered for centuries because of his services, the political acumen and his struggle for the rights of the masses. Chief Minister pointed out that Mr. Bhutto rendered immense sacrifices for the cause of democracy and the betterment and upliftment of the people.
He said that Shaheed Bhutto started politics when there was dictatorship in the country and the politics was considered a `crime’. At that time Mr. Bhutto felt that for the betterment of the masses and for the realization of their due rights, he spurned then government of President Ayub Khan and the people greeted him with open arms. Qaim Ali Shah said that Mr. Bhutto created awareness among the people from Karachi to Peshawar regarding their due rights, gathered them and formed the PPP.
He said that Mr. Bhutto gave a programme for the people and also came up with the constitution which is still in vogue. The CM said that Mr. Bhutto also gave the programme of `Roti, Kapra aur Makan’ for the poor and deserving people.
He said that if Mr. Bhutto had remained for five more years then there would have been only the democracy in the country. Qaim Ali Shah said that Mr. Bhutto had also rendered a lot of services in the realms of international affairs as well as on the Kashmir issue and forged deep friendly ties with the Peoples Republic of China.
He further stated that Mr. Bhutto was a great leader of the international stature. The CM said that he would not make any comments regarding Bhutto’s case in the Supreme Court.
Education Dept to calculate amounts being paid to them: Sindh Education and Literacy Minister Pir Mazharul Haq has directed the officials of the Education Department to calculate the amount being paid as salaries from the government exchequer to the teachers, lecturers, assistant professors and other employees who are working for the media organizations instead of performing their duties in the educational institutions of the province. 
According to a spokesman, the senior minister has lamented the attitude of certain media organizations who after release of list of such over 350 teachers/lecturers/assistant professors.

, have launched campaign against the department instead of realizing the national duty and sacking those teachers.
