KARACHI : A petition has been filed in Sindh High Court (SHC) to challenge the provincial government’s decision to transfer Inspector General of Police Iqbal Mehmood to the Centre. According to reports, the petitioner in his plea said the Supreme Court, in Karachi suo motu case, had imposed ban on transfers and postings in the Sindh police. The petitioner said the provincial government was removing the Sindh police chief to achieve its political objectives.
Iqbal Mehmood was posted as the Sindh IGP a few months ago, but the province has handed over his services to the Centre recently.
