Jafaria Alliance calls APC on sectarian killings

KARACHI – The Jafaria Alliance Pakistan on Friday called an all-parties conference (APC) on April 20 to chalk out a future course of action against what it sees as “the genocide of the Shia Muslims” in Pakistan.
Speaking at a news conference at the Press Club, JAP chief and former Senator Allama Abbas Kumaili said that contacts would be made soon with all peace-loving and patriot religious and political parties for their participation in the APC.
Kumaili also exhorted the president, prime minister, chief of army staff, chief justice of Pakistan, law-enforcement agencies and media to clarify as to what agency or force was impeding their efforts against the genocide of the Shias. He criticised the ruling coalition, superior courts and state agencies for their failure to stem terrorism and extremism.
The JAP chief also asked the federal interior minister to honour his promises and save Pakistan from attacks and tragedies. He said that terrorists were trying to push the country into a civil war, but the national security and solidarity made his community to demonstrate patience.
Kumaili condemned Chilas, Kohistan and Parachinar tragedies, demanding stern action against their perpetrators.
Maulana Hussain Masoodi, Allama Furqan Haider Abidi, Allama Baqar Zaidi, Allama Jafar Raza, Salman Mujtaba and Shabbar Raza also spoke.
