Karachi (PPI) - Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said on Saturday PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari was the "right person to be President of the country in view of his services for political stability and sovereignty of Parliament. Talking to newsmen at Sindh Assembly, he said - "I am grateful to PML-F Chief Pir Sahib Pagara, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain Bhai, ANP Chief Asfand Yar Wali and NPP Chief Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi for supporting Asif Zardari. I am also thankful to Sindh PML-Q MPAs for casting vote in favor of Asif Zardari." "Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi did not set any condition to support Asif Zardari for Presidential election when I contacted him. He said we are with you and our MPAs would cast votes in favor to your candidate. After that NPP MPAs cast their votes for our candidate", he added. "I am proud Sindh Assembly voted for Mr Zardari in overwhelming majority. PPP candidate secured voted from all electoral colleges in majority as he is considered genuine deserving person for office of President", he stated. Now democracy would be promoted, problems of unemployment and law and order would be resolved. Winning of Asif Ali Zardari showed unanimous support of masses to him, he noted. Sindh Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza said, "Asif Zardari would be first ever President unanimously elected by full support of various parties. I assure people of resolution of all their problems soon." Qaim thanks Pagara for support Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah visited Race Course Ground here on Saturday and thanked Chief of Pakistan Muslim League Functional Pir Pagaro for his party support in getting Asif Ali Zardari elected as president in presidential poll. He arrived at the ground after hearing the results of presidential elections at Sindh Assembly and the news of Zardari's great win. Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Provincial Minister for Education Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, Opposition Leader Jam Madad Ali and other opposition and PPP members accompanied him. Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad was already present at the Race Course Ground. On the behalf of PPP leaders, elected members and masses, the Chief Minister thanked Pir Pagaro for his party unconditional support to Asif Zardari. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said Asif Ali Zardari has won the presidential election with heavy majority in the entire country as the elected members of Sindh Assembly also cast their votes in his favor with consensus.
