ANP man killed


KARACHI - An activist of Awami National Party was gunned down in Ittehad Town, Baldia within the remits of Mochko police station.
Police said that Mujahid Afridi, a local leader of Baldia Town, came out of the mosque after offering prayer when some gunmen resorted to firing.
Afridi and three others sustained bullet wounds who were taken to Civil Hospital Karachi where doctors pronounced the death of Afridi while admitted three others, including Idrees, Musa and Inam with critical wounds.
In another incident of firing, two women were killed while another wounded when some gunmen barged into the house and sprayed bullets indiscriminately.
The incident took place in the remits of Korangi Industrial Area police station where two gunmen were barged into home and resorted to firing.
Assailants managed to flee while wounded women including Kareema Khatoon, Dilawari Begam and Yasmin Akber were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced the death of Kareema and Dilawari and admitted Yasmin with critical wounds. Police have yet to ascertain the motive behind the incident.
