SHIKARPUR - Shikarpur police in collaboration with Rangers have started combing operation in Shikarpur district to avoid any untoward incident in the holy month of Muharram.
During search operation police have arrested 15 suspects from village Ahmed Ali Brohi near Sultankot Town and recovered Indian currency and huge cache weapons from their possession on Friday.
According to an official, acting on the information, received from arrested terrorist Usman Pathan, who was arrested from Khanpur town of teshil Shikarpur district, when who was trying to blew himself up at Khanpur Imambargah on the first day of the Eidul Azha.
Shikarpur police and Rangers carried out a raid and succeeded to arrest 15 suspects and did not show their names while police have also recovered currency of eight countries including India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bangkok and other countries and seized huge cache weapons from their possession, police said.
The arrested suspected persons have been shifted to an undisclosed place for interrogation.
It should be mentioned here that, Law enforcement agencies have declared Shikarpur as very sensitive district during the holy month of Muharram.
BOY DROWNED
A 10-years old boy identified as Afghan Jangwani was drowned in pond when he was grazing the cattle and entered into the pond to beat the heat, outside of his village Lahori Waah in the limits of Faizo Police Station some 20 kilometers from here on Friday.
Local divers rushed the spot and fished out the dead body of the deceased boy and handed over to his heirs.
