KARACHI – All-Pakistan Muslim League has asked the government not to delay general election, due in March 2013, in the name of local government election.
Aasia Isehaq, central secretary information APML, asked this in a statement issued here from the central information secretariat of APML on Friday. She said that APML had welcomed government’s announcement regarding holding of local government election as this system was introduced by our leader Pervez Musharraf.
She said that APML had a fear that whether Asif Zardari would delay the general election with announcing of lollypop of local government election, if this would be happened then country would face more serious political crisis. “And, this is need of an hour that all political parties would come forward to settle down all crisis faced by the country as we all have to contribute in the real development of Pakistan,” she added.
Aasia said that current govet had got succeeded in every sector where they adopted the policies of former president Pervez Musharraf. She once again asked the govt for not delaying of general election as APML’s candidates would contest on every national and provincial seats and APML would make the govt for the real service of common people.
Meanwhile, Advisor to Chief Minister Syed Aijaz Shah Shirazi of PML-Q on Friday called on Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah at CM House. Shirazi discussed matters of mutual inertest including their possible joining of ruling PPP as MNA Faryal Talpur already held meetings with them in this regard.
According to official statement issued from CM House, Shirazi discussed matter of mutual interest with Chief Minister Sindh and appreciated the new People’s Local Government Ordinance 2012 which has been introduced and enforced in Sindh province. He lauded the efforts of present coalition govt and hoped that problems confronted to the common men will be addressed accordingly.
The chief minister appreciated the views of Syed Aijaz Shah Shirazi and assured that genuine problems will be solved on priority basis. The meeting was attended among others by Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Information Minister Sharjeel Memon, Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Siddique Memon and others.
