KARACHI - The lawyers on Tuesday did not appear before the trial courts in protest against the blasts occurred in Peshawar and in other cities. As per detail, the lawyers fraternity, while responding to the the call given by the lawyer representatives bodies, did not take part in the courts proceedings in all the districts, sessions and other lower courts. The prisoners brought from different prisons for trial were returned to the prisons without the court proceedings. The trial courts only adjourned the hearing for the next dates. The same situation was witnessed in most of the lower courts in the metropolitan as well as the Sindh High Court. The lawyers fraternity has strongly condemned the bomb blast occurred outside the courts building of Peshawar on Sunday as well as other such terrorism incidents taking place across the country. On the other side, they also observed the Soyem of Mohammad Ali Abbasi, president of Karachi Bar Association (KBA), and held Quran Khawani and offered Fateha for the departed soul. On the occasion, the representatives of all bar associations including KBA, Sindh High Court Bar Association, Malir District Bar, representatives of civil society and people belonging to different segments of life have praised his services and paid tribute to his struggle for the independent judiciary.
