MQM-London’s ‘Martyrs Day’ plan ruined

KARACHI - Heavy contingents of law enforcers were deployed at Yadgar-e-Shuhda, Jinnah Ground and Azizabad to halt the Muttahida Qaumi Movement London (MQM)’s plan to observe “Martyrs Day” scheduled for today.

In different raids, Rangers raided the house of UC chairman Amir Khan in Rizvia locality and took him away to unknown place for investigation. Another senior party work Yousaf Altafi was arrested from Baldia Town in raid conducted at his house and shifted to unknown place for interrogation.

MQM London had announced the “Martyrs Day” to pay tributes to the sacrifices of party workers. Law enforcement agencies chalked out the counter-demonstration policy and deployed heavy contingents of personnel in the surrounding of Jinnah Ground and nearby locality close to the MQM headquarter Nine Zero.

Following the announcement the MQM-London workers started underground working and made a plan of big show at sealed MQM headquarters. Graffiti, banners and door-to-door convincing continued in the city for last couple of days.

 As a result, scores of party workers having affiliation with London based leadership were arrested from different areas of the city.
