KARACHI  - Two people were killed in separate incidents of violence here on Wednesday.
A man was shot dead in Gulshan-e-Maymar area. Police said unidentified armed riders shot him and escaped from the scene. Police shifted the victim to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he succumbed to injuries. The identification of the victim has yet to be ascertained. Police shifted the body to morgue for identification.
Rizvia Police have found a bullet-riddled body of a man from Lyari riverbed. It shifted the body to morgue for identification after medicolegal formalities at the ASH.
Meanwhile, a gangster was killed during an alleged encounter in Lyari. The encounter took place in Lyari’s Cheel Chowk area. The raid was conducted jointly by the police of Ferozabad and Lyari and rangers at the hideout of the Mullah Nisar group of Lyari gangsters.
During the exchange of fire, one gangster was killed while his companions managed to escape under the cover of firing. The victim was later identified as Bilal Baloch. DSP Murtaza Miran said the Ferozabad Police approached the Lyari Police to conduct a raid on a tip-off to arrest the extortionists involved.
He said the victim was also wanted to the police in a number of cases.
