Four killed, several injured in Jacobabad jirga firing

JACOBABAD: Four persons were killed and several others, including an influential tribal leader were injured when a man opened fire in a jirga today.
According to reports, a jirga was called to settle land dispute in the Mauladad town. When the matter was not resolved, rival groups attacked each other with clubs. During the clash, a man opened fire, killing one person instantly and injuring several others. The jirga was being headed by Sardar Noor Rehman, who is brother of Provincial Minister Mir Mumtaz Jakhrani and MNA Mir Ejaz Jakhrani. Sardar Noor Rehman was also injured in the firing and was shifted to a hospital along with the rest.

Police entered the area and went after the gunmen; however, none of them could be arrested.
