KARACHI: Dr Adib Rizvi, a renowned surgeon and Director Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) has clarified all rumors regarding health of the legendary social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi, saying that Mr Edhi visits SIUT twice a week for routine treatment of dialysis. “He has not been admitted in the ICU at SIUT or elsewhere,” he said.He was speaking at a press briefing on Edhi Sahab’s health, held at Sindh Institute of Urology and transplantation (SIUT) on Saturday. Abdul Sattar Edhi was also present on the occasion. Addressing the media, Abdul Sattar Edhi said that he is fine and living a normal life and negated news running on social media. He addressed a briefing with Faisal Edhi along with Dr Tahir Aziz and Dr Adib Rizvi (SIUT). He requested the public not to pay heed to such rumors. Dr Tahir Aziz said that Edhi was not admitted in hospital and was doing fine. Edhi Sahab is known to visit the hospital for routine check-ups and dialysis. Dr Adib Rizvi was asked about renal transplantation of Edhi on which he replied that there is tissue matching problem in his family. He said that in his case he is ideal candidate for deceased organ donation.
