Prime Minister, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the US drone attacks in Fata was not permitted and hoped that with the change in leadership in US, the policy also might change. Talking to media on the sidelines of the handing over of logistic ship to Pakistan Navy at Karachi Shipyard here, PM said that Joe Biden has been pro-Pakistan and he had played a key-role in the restoration of democracy in Pak besides doffing off the uniform of former President Musharraf and added this was not done by us or any other party. He further said, "Pakistan is a sovereign country and permission for US drone attacks could not be given and we are seeking support of other countries also against these attacks, as the miscreants slip nearer." The prime minister said, "Rahman Malik has gone to London with my permission to meet Altaf Hussain, who is our ally and with us." Regarding high prices, he said that the whole world was in the grip of recession, which has hit Pakistan also. He said that we have got a mandate for five years and the problems could not be solved in eight months. Regarding lawyers' movement, he said that the lawyers and N-League's movement for the restoration of deposed judges was their own affair, we have no objection. He said that People's party offered sacrifices most for the restoration of judiciary. He said that PPP was not opposed to Local Government system and intended to make it more effective fo which actions would be taken. He said that Z. A. Bhutto was a victim of judicial murder and an investigation into it was imperative. He said, "We are a strong nation and know how to defend our country."
