Lawyers to observe black day

KARACHI - Sindh Bar Council (SBC) and other associations of lawyers have announced that ‘black day’ will be observed in memory of May 12 incident. This was announced by the lawyers representatives including Vice Chairman of SBC Ghulam Muhammad Abbasi, President of Karachi Bar Association (KBA) Mehmoodul Hasan, member of Pakistan Bar Council Rasheed A Rizvi and General Secretary of Malir Bar Association Lutafullah at a joint press conference here on Thursday.They said that the lawyers will boycott courts proceedings acrose Sindh province to mark the brutal incident of May 12.Meanwhile, the Karachi police in their drive against criminals arrested 21 accused from various areas of the metropolis during the past 24 house.A police statement on Friday said that those arrested included proclaimed offenders and absconders.  It said that the police smashed four gangs of criminals during the period while an encounter also took place.  As many as 14 pistols and four mobile phones were also recovered from the possession of the accused. The police have registered cases and have started the investigations.
