KARACHI - The PPP has announced the names of its candidates on the remaining constituencies in the province.
According to the announcement, the PPP Sindh President Qaim Ali Shah has awarded party ticket to the former federal minister Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani on PS-16-Kashmore, Rajab Ali Khaskheli on PS-48 Hydeabad rural, Jam Khan Shoro on PS-47 Qasimabad-Hyderabad against nationalist leader Ayaz Latif Palijo, Bashir Ahmed Halepoto on PS-56 Badin-Matli, Mir Allah Bux Talpur on PS-56 Talhar-Badin, Imdad Pitafi on PS-52 Tando Allahyar against PML-N’s Dr Irfan Gul Magsi, Hanif Memon on PS-64 and Mrs. Parveen Aziz Junejo on PS-76 KN Shah-Dadu.
Meanwhile, after returning the PPP tickets by the Shirazis and to contest elections as independent candidates in Thatta, the PPP Sindh has reviewed its candidates and announced final candidates in the district.
According to the party statement, the former provincial minister Sadiq Ali Memon will contest election on NA-237 Thatta, while Shamsun Nisa would be his covering candidate. Similarly, Arbab Ramizuddin would be PPP candidate on NA238-Thatta-Sijawal against Ayaz Shah Shirazi.
In other candidates, the PPP awarded ticket to Abdul Hameed Soomro on PS-84-Thatta, Sassui Palijo on PS-87 Thatta-Sakro, while decision to field Awais Muzaffar Hashmi alias Tappi on PS-88-Thatta-Ghorabari was still in pending.
However, the PPP has started negotiations with the former Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim for seat adjustment in the Thar district.
In this regard, PPP leader Syed Khurshid Ahemd Shah met with the Dr Arbab Rahim in Mirpurkhas on Friday.
The PPP wanted its strong candidate against PTI’s Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who is contesting election from Thar as independent candidate. The PPP has offered Arbab to help the PPP against the Shah Mehmood Qureshi and in return the party will help Arbab Group on some other seats.
However, the two sides have yet to develop consensus on seat adjustment.
