Safari Park has chimps pair now

KARACHI - The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has been making all-out efforts to provide recreational and amusement facilities to the citizens, Administrator M Hussain Syed said on Tuesday while handing over a pair of chimpanzees to the Safari Park.  Raju and Bablu, both aging six, have been gifted to the park by a leading businessman of the city. The two chimps are the first ever to be brought to the park since its inception in 1975.
The KMC administrator said that new animals and birds were being added to the Karachi Zoo and Safari Park.
He said tigers and giraffes would also be brought to the park this month, while many rare birds would also be brought from various countries. He added that construction work of an elephant house on an area of 65,000-square feet would be completed in the next four months. Safari Park Director Salman Shamsi and KMC officials were also present.
