KARACHI - Whitecane Safety Day will be observed through out the country on October 15 (Monday) with commitment. Lions Club International district 305 (Pakistan) has chalked out an elaborate programme to observe the day that included walk, debate, national songs and sports competition among blind children. The city Lions Club Karachi has arranged a walk in collaboration with Ida Rieu School of Blind at 8.45 a.m. which starts from the school’s premises at Nizami Road near Purani Numaish and will pass through M.A. Jinnah Road. Guru  Mandir, Quaid’s Mazar and back to the school. The participants will lay floral wreath and offer fateha at the Mazar. The walk will be led by Council Chairman Lions Club Mirza Raza Ali along with leaders from different walks of life.
Lions Club has also arranged a programme of debate/naat/ milli naghama/quiz competition at Ida Rieu School at 5. p.m. Sindh Minister for Women Development will be the cheif guest while Rector Newport Institute of Economics and Communication will be the guest of honour.
