KARACHI - Maulana Jamal Mian Farangi Mahli, one of the close lieutenants of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and a leader of Pakistan Movement, passed away here on Wednesday night after a protracted illness, family sources said. He was 92.Late Maulana Jamal Mian belonged to a prominent Farangi Mahli family of Lucknow, central India.He was described as one of the last stalwarts of the Pakistan Movement and close associates of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Nawab Ismail Khan and Raja Saheb of Mahmoodabad.Late Jamal Mian Farangi Mahli was the last living member of the All India Muslim League Working Committee.He was also a recipient of the `Nishan-i-Imtiaz' during the government of Shaheed Mohtarma Benzair Bhutto.Late Jamal Farangi Mahli was survived by four sons and three daughters. His son Ahmed Abdul Bari Mian is one of the popular figures in the social circles of Karachi.The burial will take place in the Gizri-Defence graveyard here on Thursday (today) after Asr prayers.
