KARACHI - The Citizen Police Liaison Committee has decided to link its video network at Defence and Federal B. Area industrial zones to City Government's Command & Control Centre. This was revealed by the CPLC Chief Sharfuddin Memon on Tuesday during a visit to City Government Command and Control Centre at Civic Centre. He was leading a delegation comprising other office bearers of CPLC including Haneef Musa, Shaukat Suleman, Ahmed Chinoy, Tanveer Muhammad, Ali S Haji, Waseem-uz-Zafar, Ghulam Abbas, Muhammad Zaman Khan, Ateeq-ur-Rehman, Masood Naqi, Rehan Hannan, Akhtar Younis, Babar Younis and Danial Mehmood. The CPLC Chief on this occasion praised the unprecedented development happened in city under the leadership of City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal. He said that Nazim Karachi has made Karachi a role model for the whole country. He also noted that the Command and Control Centre of City Government has helped in controlling crimes in city while it has also been used successfully in maintaining traffic flow on various important roads. He said that the induction of modern infrastructure has also promoted industrial and commercial activities in Karachi. The CPLC Chief said that his organization will continue working with the city government and besides using this effective system they will also provide resources for its even better performance. He further said that in order to bring about more improvement in this system through short and long term strategies the CPLC will form a committee and appoint a focal person for full coordination with city government. He viewed that this system could be used more effectively in controlling crimes in the city and maintaining traffic flow on main arteries. The CPLC Chief also conveyed the invitation to the team of City Government's Command and Control Centre for a visit to CPLC office. He said that we can work collectively in controlling crimes in the city while the participation of community can make this system even more effective. Earlier the officials at the C&C gave a briefing to the CPLC delegation about the working of Wireless Surveillance System.
