Nine people, including a student, were killed in different parts of metropolis over the last two days. According to media reports, in the latest incident of violence, gunmen shot and killed a 25-year-old student outside Allama Iqbal College in Model Colony. The deceased, identified as Muhammad Sultan, was the General Secretary of Punjabi Students Federation (PSF). After receiving information about the killing, dozens of PSF activists reached the scene and staged a protest by blocking the Model road and setting tires on fire. The protesters called for immediate arrest of people involved in the killing. Meanwhile, after assurance of police and rangers authorities to arrest the accused, protestors ended the protest. On Thursday, eight people were killed and two others wounded in separate incidents of violence in Karachi. The incidents of target killing began when bullet-riddled bodies of three MQM supporters were found in a car near PTCL's Head Office in Malir Halt. The deceased, Shahbaz Ahmed, Shahid Nisar and Sabir Ali, were residents of North Karachi. Later, Ahmed Khan, 40 and Mazahad Gul, 35, were gunned down in Mianwali Colony and Qasba Colony. In another incident, 30 year old Asim was shot and killed in Orangi Town Sector 11-D. Similarly, Ahsan, 30, was killed near Aisha Manzil. The victim was a member of MQM. Two persons sustained bullet injuries in an armed attack in Liaqatabad.
