Karachi violence claims two more lives

At least two people were killed and several others injured as violence continued in different areas of the provincial metropolis on Wednesday. The police arrested more than 10 criminals from different localities of the city and recovered arms and drugs from their possession.
According to details, near National Highway, unidentified gunmen opened fire at a car killing one person and fled the scene. The deceased was identified as Hasan bin Hussain, 50, and he was serving as manager in a private company. Unknown people resorted to aerial firing following the killing.
The exasperated people took to National Highway and set tires on fire there to protest the killing. The abrupt rampage and rioting triggered tension in several city areas, causing the businesses to close down.
Police recovered dead body of a man from Old City Area near Pan Mandi. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital where identity of the deceased was yet to be confirmed.
Firing incidents continued in different areas of the city including North Nazimabad, Sohrab Goth, Shah Faisal Colony and Lyari during which 14 persons were reported injured. The injured were rushed to different hospitals where according to hospital sources condition of four people was serious.
The police during separate actions in different localities of the city arrested 11 accused involved in various crimes and recovered arms and drugs from their possession.
Separate cases in all incidents have been registered at concerned police stations and investigations were in progress.
