SA passes bill for Jinnah Medical University


KARACHI  - Sindh Assembly on Thursday unanimously passed a bill to upgrade Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and to re-name it as Jinnah Sindh Medical University. Sindh Law Minister Muhammad Ayaz Soomro moved the bill which was not opposed by any member present in the House.Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro was presiding over the session.Meanwhile, Sindh Assembly session, after completing its first day agenda, was adjourned till 30th November.Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, in consultation with the members present on the floor, announced that the session was being prorogued due to the Aushura.Meanwhile, the University of Karachi on Thursday announced the result of the BDS First and the Second Professional Supplementary Examination 2012.According to statistics, 203 candidates appeared in the BDS First Professional Supplementary Examination and 140 of them were declared as successful.In all, 188 candidates appeared in the BDS Second Professional Supplementary Examination 2012 while 168 of them remained successful.
