Four killed in separate incidents

KARACHI - At least four people were killed in separate incidents on Thursday. As per details, 50-year-old Ajmal, son of Allah Wasaiyo, was killed when he offered resistance to street criminals during mobile phone snatching near Ziauddin Chowrangi in North Nazimabad police precincts. Police officials said the incident took place in a minibus of route W-21 when three armed men entered the bus and made the passengers hostage at gunpoint and started looting them. The deceased was said to be a mason by profession and was the resident of Mianwali Colony, North Nazimabad. The police have registered an FIR No 263/09 on behalf of deceaseds brother, Illyas, against unknown persons and started investigation. In another incident, Emran, a computer operator at a cattle farm, was shot dead at the cattle farm owned by Rana Sadiq in Behns Colony, in the limits of Shah Latif police station. He was 35. Police officials said the incident took place when some armed culprits entered the cattle farm but the private security gunmen of the farm opened fire at them. During the crossfire, he received bullet injuries and died. He was said to be a father of three children and hailed from Gujranwala. Meanwhile, an unknown seven-year-old boy was drowned to death in a pond at Quaidabad area in the limits of Shah Latif police station. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained, as the area police did not have any knowledge about the case. In another incident, 30-year-old Majid, son of Abdul Hameed, was hit by a train in the limits of Landhi Railway police station. Police officials said the deceased came to City from his hometown Sahiwal for employment. He died while crossing the railway track.
