KARACHI  : President Asif Ali Zardari on the Prime Minister’s advice has approved confirmation of three Additional Judges of Sindh High Court and one Additional Judge of Islamabad High Court as judges of SHC and IHC respectively.
Additional Judge IHC, Mr Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi has been confirmed as judge of the said court and Additional Judges Sindh High Court, Mr Justice Abdul Rasool Memon, Mr Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto and Mr Justice Sadiq Hussain Bhatti have been confirmed as Judges of the SHC.
Presidents’ spokesperson, Farhatullah Babar said the Judicial Commission of Pakistan had forwarded these nominations to the Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment in the Superior Courts which could not held its meeting due to electioneering; hence under clause 12 of Article 175 A of the Constitution, the nominations sent by the JCP were deemed to have been confirmed and were subsequently forwarded to the Prime Minister. The PM, in turn, advised the President to accord his approval to these appointments.
