Two cops among 3 shot dead

KARACHI - Two cops and an activist of MQM were gunned down in various incidents of target killing here on Monday.
An activist of MQM and former UC Nazim, Iqbal, 30, was shot dead at Sector 11-E in the jurisdictions of Mominabad police station. Police said the victim was currently serving as member of Zonal Municipal Committee. He was the resident of same area.
The victim was sitting outside his home when unidentified motorcyclists targeted him. The body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to the family.
Separately, a retired police Sub-Inspector was killed and his son got injured when they were going on a bike in Orangi Town, Dabla Bazar.
Police said the incident occurred when Muhammad Bux, 62, and his son Kashif was going through the market. The incident occurred over personnel enmity.
The victims were the residents of Bangla Bazaar and hailed from Naushehro Feroze. The body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
In another incident, a police constable Mushtaq, 35, was shot dead in front of police station where he was deployed. Police said the victim was coming from city court. When he reached his police station, some unknown assailants opened indiscriminate fire. As result, he succumbed to injuries and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbashi Shaheed Hospital and later handed over to family after autopsy.
In another incident of violence, Surjani Town police found a tortured body of a man from the bushes in Khuda ki Basti area. Police also found a slip, inscribed with his name Asif, from his pocket. The body was moved to morgue for identification after autopsy at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
