UBL grab comfortable win

KARACHI - UBL registered comfortable nine wickets win over Pak Saudi which following on in second innings were bowled out for 293 leaving a small winning target for the bankers on the third and final day of the Patrons Trophy match here Sunday at winners ground. Resuming at overnight total of 177 for three, Pak Saudi which was forced to follow on added 116 more runs to the total for the remaining seven wickets leaving mere 57 runs for the opponents to score to clinch fin win. UBL raced to the winning target in ten overs and were 60 for one when the contest ended in their favour. UBL had scored 392 in the first innings after Tariq Haroon had contributed 131 to the total. Pak Saudi which had chosen to field first were bowled out for 155 with tail ender Nasir Awais coming at the fag end of the innings which had crumbled to eight down for 63 , scored 53 taking his team total past the hundred mark. Following on Pak Saudi put up better batting performance and scored 293.In the process they managed small 56 runs lead not enough to save it from defeat. When the play resumed UBL bowlers made early breakthrough to ensure that Pak Saudi innings folded early and their team had enough time to chase what ever wining total was given to them. Moinuddin who was unbeaten 52 overnight added 15 more runs to his knock before getting out. Other main contribution to Pak Saudi second innings came from Muhammad Irfan who made quick 51 in 81 balls hitting eight fours. Pak Saudi extended its resistance but ended when spinner Waqas Haroon ran through the tail. He finished with three for 36.Pacer Muhammad Irshad took two for 59; Roman Khan got two for 53.
